Consoles

We have a large variety of consoles available from single manual box organs upwards to cathedral or concert hall sized designs. Our consoles are manufactured in several pipe organ building factories in the UK and since each console is built to order, complete flexibility in layout and design is possible and s such there is no real limit as to what a customer can have. However, in order to keep prices down, many of our consoles use a standard design which is then adjusted to each clients requirements.

Due to the myriad of possibilities available it is impossible to give anything other than a rough guide as to what a complete console will cost. However, some of the examples below should help to give some idea as to what is available.

All consoles are built to the highest standards of workmanship and materials and are used worldwide by both pipe organ builders and other quality digital organ builders.

The three manual console shown above is one of our standard models that was developed especially for us. It is constructed from from solid panelled oak built on a poplar frame. Incorporating 3 x UHT keyboards and 32 note rear sprung pedalboard with rosewood sharps, adjustable organ bench in solid oak with motorised adjustment (not shown), Harrison & Harrison pattern solid brass pistons, Kimber Allen swell pedals and thumb pistons plus 2 x 22" built in touch screens. Also included is the Midi controller interface for the whole console. This standard console is designed to fit through a conventional domestic doorway. Available in different shades of colour and alternative wood grains to match as required. An alternative frame will allow the console to be dismantled further for where access is particularly difficult such as up a narrow stairway.

Price of three manual version (LH side) above:
£34,999.00.
(Excludes PC and speaker system etc.)

The above console is also available with moving drawstop jambs instead of the touch screen ones shown and can be fitted with glazed or solid panel security doors at extra cost.
Whilst the above console uses solid oak which is costly, the same model can be produced using composite boards. Although the appearance is almost identical, the cost savings are considerable. The main difference lies in some of the edge mouldings which can only be undertaken using solid oak. The remainder of the console frame remains the same. Likewise, using standard Fatar keyboards would reduce the overall price by several thousand pounds.

The basic design will allow two, three or four manual sets of keys. (a four manual version shown in RH side photograph).

Shown below are examples of more traditional drawstop consoles.
In addition to the stand alone examples shown above, consoles can be designed to be incorporated into existing pipe organ casework (en fenetre) Panelling can be of solid wood or veneered boards as required. Where veneered boards are used, carefully chosen veneers are selected with solid hardwood lippings and frames. Custom console styling and design can be based on any design chosen by the client. Choice of wood type, finishing and colour matching to existing furnishings are completely variable along with size and design. In addition, we can refurbish and alter older consoles as required.
